Aspen, CO - May 30, 2024 - Intersect Aspen Art and Design Fair, Aspen's signature fine art and design fair for over the last decade, returns to the Aspen Ice Garden July 30 - August 3, 2024
The 2024 edition of the annual art fair brings together a dynamic mix of modern and contemporary galleries from around the globe and offers timely and original programming. Through its cultural partnerships and curatorial vision, Intersect Aspen offers opportunities for dialogue, engagement, and inspiration.
What’s new:
New this year in the title of the event is the word ‘design’, which will also be reflected on the show floor with exhibits from some of the world’s top contemporary design galleries including Todd Merrill Studio, Mastrangelo and BDDW.
Artist Meghann Riepenhoff, represented by Jackson Fine Art, will be present at the fair for the first time. Riepenhoff will exhibit a selection of her camera-less photography, with work captured in the Aspen and surrounding Roaring Fork Valley area. She uses natural elements, such as the sun and primarily water, to execute her camera-less cyanotype process.
Work from artist Zaria Forman, represented by Winston Wächter Fine Art, will be showcased. Forman is celebrated for her works documenting climate change in pastel. Forman magnifies the physical complexities of polar ice, reflecting its beauty and fragility. Her pieces tell the history of the ice’s journey from its prehistoric formation to today.
Yigal Ozeri, represented by Corridor Contemporary, is best known for his large-scale cinematic and photorealistic oil paintings and portraits. This will be the first time Ozeri’s work will be on exhibit at Intersect Aspen and the fair looks forward to showcasing his work, which is intended to exist somewhere between reality and fantasy.
Intersect Aspen Art and Design Fair is also honored to highlight Aspen curator, community leader and artist, D.J. Watkins who will curate a space within the fair highlighting the work of fellow preeminent local artists who are represented at his new downtown Aspen gallery, Aspen Collective.
“We are thrilled with the lineup of galleries and artists. As Aspen’s annual art fair, Intersect Aspen Art and Design delivers exceptional experiences,” says Tim von Gal, CEO, Intersect Art and Design. “We strive to create a space for collectors and art enthusiasts to immerse themselves in viewing, acquiring, learning about and discussing the art and continue to be a must-attend event during Aspen’s world-renowned ArtWeek.”

About Tim and Dirk von Gal, owners of Intersect Aspen Art and Design:
In 2021, Tim and Dirk von Gal relaunched Aspen’s annual art fair, Art Aspen, as Intersect Aspen Art and Design Fair. The brothers, who reside in Georgia, both have an affinity for Aspen. Dirk worked as an Aspen ski instructor in the 1990s. And Tim has been a long-time visitor to Aspen. When they were presented with the opportunity to relaunch the summer art event, they were honored to take on the project and thus since, have given the fair new life and energy while expanding its programming.
